First time for everything

It was so nice out this evening that David and I took a little walk down to the market. Somewhere in that process I think a wasp got stuck in my hair or got trapped in my house because when we got home this thing flew at me, I swatted it away but instead of leaving it stung me in the ear. Many swear words came to mind but I kept it PG, and after I yelled my hero David killed it. And even though (according to David) it doesn't look that bad let me say it hurt pretty bad, defiantly worse than a bee sting.
Unaffected ear Stung ear
And if David can write a post on some penny he found, I can do one about getting attacked by a vicious insect.

It's like 5 books in one

So I am now through 3/4 of the book The Count of Monte Cristo and I JUST figured out who each character is. This whole time unless it is Monte Cristo I have had absolutely no idea who each person is. But a couple of nights ago I made a key explaining who each character is, then 2 days later realized that it was wrong and re-made it. Is it bad that it took me until page 1021, to try to put all the pieces together. But on the bright side the story makes a lot more sense and I see the crazy web he is weaving. That Alexandre Dumas is one crazy dude. I just can't help but wonder if I should just start all over ( which I am obviously not going to do because did I mention I'm on page 1051) There is no turning back now.

P.S. Julie don't think because of this post I don't like the book , because I really do.

yes me and rachel went on a wonderful hike and saw a lake and the ocean with islands...but more importantly i was rewarded today with a close to mint condition penny from.....1918..... i'll let you catch your breath. yes we we're at safeway today getting the weekly peanut butter, once i payed for my food, out came the change from that fancy change dispenser, lo and behold 1918 beauty staring up at me. so i investegated this rare artifiact and found that this penny is actually worth between 12-16 cents.....can you believe that. that's like 12-16 times it's original value. and so i wonder why doesnt that government collect up these rare artifacts, instead of sending them back into circulation, and exchange them for thier real worth and pay off our debt.

Oooo

This morning Timber and I went out for a run and along the way a nice old man stopped us and asked if we went to pick some wild flowers yet. Since I grew up in Corona, it never really occurred to me that there are wild flowers (not weeds) to be picked. So the man gave us directions and off we went.
There are fields covered in these yellow daffodils. It was so cool. So I picked some, during which I felt like I was on Little House on the Prairie, and now they are in a vase in my kitchen.
Its the little things that make living in a new place so fun.

It's beer making season

First batch of Hammer Beer David and his trusty partner Grayson

So after weeks of preparation all is done. Now the beer needs to sit just a week longer and it will be ready to drink.
